
The VMC-2000 Series PCI-XP Motion Controllers are perfect for both open and closed-loop servo and stepper applications. These full-length PCI form factor boards come standard with either 4 axes (VMC-2400) or 8 axes (VMC-2800) of motion. Using industry standard VHDCI connectors, all I/O signals connect through the front of the board.
Each of the 4 or 8 channels has a dedicated high speed DSP for high throughput and reliable positioning. The 32-bit Dual Port PCI interface operates at the full 33MHz PCI bus speed for fast communication and application control.
The design features high-density VHDCI connectors which allow external connection to all signals. No internal wiring is needed in the PC chassis.
The card is easily programmed using C/C++ to execute complex profiles and change motion parameters using the included motion command library. Drivers are provided for Plug and Play compatibility with Windows operating systems.
Each axis provides a step output, direction output, amp enable output, home input, amp fault input, two differential 12 bit D/A outputs, 2 limit inputs, programmable I/O and quadrature encoder inputs. Optical isolation is provided for 5VDC operation with external devices. There are also 8 general-purpose I/O pins that can be configured by the application.
The built-in encoder interface allows closed-loop position verification from quadrature encoders for each axis at rates up to 10MHz. A High-speed capture input for each axis allows position capture on input state transitions.
