We
combined the latest digital and analog technology
to design some of the best performing linear servo amplifier products on the market today.
These transconductance (current mode) linear servo
amplifiers are ideal for low friction applications
requiring high bandwidth, low noise and minimal
distortion from the power electronics.
Our design features a high speed DSP that provides
monitoring and user interface functions while the
analog control and linear power stages provide
extremely quiet control of the outputs. True
linear output control is obtained with zero
crossover distortion.
Our linear
servo amplifiers can drive brushless motors in
either sine mode (2 phase input) or Trapezoidal
mode (6 step) using motor mounted hall
sensors. A simple jumper setting selects
between the modes of operation. In
sine mode, the amplifier requires two +/-10vdc
current command signal inputs 120 degrees
out of phase. No feedback is required back to the
amplifier. The servo amplifier generates the third
phase internally. In Trapezoidal mode,
the amplifier requires a single +/-10vdc current
command input signal. The motor's hall sensors (or
encoder commutation tracks) are connected to the
amplifier for commutation. The servo amplifier
provides the 3 phase currents based on the
position of the motor shaft. Brush mode (DC)
motors can also be driven in current mode using a
+/-10 vdc command signal input.
These linear
servo amplifiers are easily configured using
either the on-board jumpers or with the built-in
serial interface. The serial interface also allows
monitoring of the drive parameters and status in
real-time during operation. All settings are
stored in non-volatile memory during power-off
conditions. Our servo amplifiers can
easily be configured during production by
downloading the settings from a host computer.
Our exclusive
Autobalance feature allows fast and easy setup
with any motor or load. This feature tunes out the
inherent imbalances found in any analog servo
output stage, allowing full power to be delivered
to the windings of the motor. This feature alone
has saved our customers valuable time and money
during manufacturing, since anyone can now balance
the amplifier with the push of a button - no screwdrivers,
"pot tweakers" or meters are needed.
